AP Studio Art project that had to show duality. This is my favorite piece so far from this year. I had a lot of fun painting it. I usually hate acrylics, but the dripping technique I used was lots of fun. The basic concept behind it was that we are often torn in our emotions, and the front someone puts up isn't necessary what they actually feel because they are often times trying to control other parts. In this piece I had the cool, subdued me trying to control an angry, passionate me.

16" by 20" acrylic paint

I really like the coloring on the red figure. The range of hues and tones are great. The lighting looks very well done. Cool dripping effect, too, it makes the piece more interesting I think.

you hate acrylics? I love them. you a water-colour lover?

I like the contrast here - almost looks like overlayed photos with such a stark difference. the dripping grounds the images together.

I don't like water color much either...I'm an oil paint girl. I really like blending things and getting a smooth feeling, and I feel I can achieve that easiest with oil paint, at least the way I use it. But thanks; I'm glad you liked the piece. I'm happy that you think the dripping unifies it, I was kind of hoping it would.

I love the contrast between the blues and reds! This is creepy but very expressive
