I'm really happy with this piece, though this isn't the greatest photo of it...I'll be able to get a better shot once school is out. The general idea I was trying to get across was how in today's culture we're so worried about shallow things-make up, face lifts, fashion- that we're oblivious to the terrible things going on around us. All the time and money we waste on producing material, superficial goods could be going towards AIDs or cancer research, feeding the hungry, etc, etc. The idea for the piece kind of popped out at me when I saw an infomercial for face lifts on TV, but I was also influenced by a piece with a similar message done by my friend Jimmy last year.
