Description
This is by far my favorite piece from my Greek Mythology theme, though yet again, I suck at taking photos. Seriously, once this school year is over, I'm going to scan everything, even if big things like this have to be scanned in four pieces. Oh well. Anyway, the original story of Pygmalion goes that a sculptor (Pygmalion) sculpted a woman so beautiful that he fell in love with it. Aphrodite felt bad for him, so she turned the scultpture into a real woman. I wanted to show the same kind of thing, but with a drawing instead.
You can see a photo of my models standing next to the original here: [link] Kind of creepy.
This won 1st Place in the Other Media category and our Booster Club Award at my high school art show.

Perhaps a classic dilemma that many artists share. "No woman for me" so I'll just draw the girl of my dreams, have her come to life, and all is well and good until the marriage license asks to see a state issued photo ID.
